Post 17- Recreating the orignial Kuleshov effect
This is our replication and recreation of the Kushelov Effect.
We filmed footage of Elsa to use as our foundation clip - this clip will be re-used throughout our product to reiterate the point of the Kushelov effect. We have also filmed three other clips; one of a breakup over text (representing sadness and upset), one of another person (Lauren) eating (intending to inflict hunger on the spectator) and one of an attractive young boy attempting to be lustful and seductive. We added all of the footage together in the correct order, as shown in the simple flow chat beneath:
ELSA ---> BREAKUP ---> ELSA ---> HUNGER ---> ELSA ---> BOY ---> ELSA
Putting the short clips in this order is replicating the Kushelov effect. The idea is that the audience will think each clip of Elsa is different, as watching different clips, which could potentially alter her emotions, may lead the audience to think she is showing a different emotion.
We are happy with our product as we think it successfully shows good attempt to replicate Kushelov's effect.
